RDs and RDNs hold a minimum of a four-year degree in the field of nutrition science. RDNs are qualified to perform comprehensive
nutrition assessments, determine the nutrition diagnosis, and plan and implement a nutrition intervention.
RDNs maintain their national Registration credential and state Licensure through annual continuing education.
